Two-Factor Authentication (TOTP)
7. Introduction
TOTP or Time-based One-time Passwords, is a type of two-factor authentication (2FA) that generates unique numeric passwords using the current time. These passwords enhance account security when used as a second factor and can be accessed offline for user convenience. Bildhive will request you to Enable Two Factor Authentication.
8. Enable Two-Factor Authentication (TOTP)
First, Download and Install any Authenticator App on your phone (Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy, etc) or browser extension on your computer
Once installed, open Bildhive and navigate to your Homepage
From the Left Navigation Bar, select My Profile
At the Top of the Profile page, select the Security Tab
The Authenticator Tab opens by default
At the bottom of the page click Set Up 2FA
Use your Phone to Scan the Bar Code on the page or
Locate the Secret Key below the QR Code and enter it in your Authenticator App
Once you do this, a Code appears in the Authenticator
Copy the Code and
In the Field below Activate 2FA, Enter the Code generated by the Authenticator
Click Verify & Activate
!! Do you already have an authenticator app on your phone?
Just open your App, tap the plus sign, then scan the QR Code provided in Bildhive, or enter the Secret Key that appears below it. Then enter the Code in the field below Activate 2FA and Click Verify And Activate.
!! Are you not able to Access your Authenticator and need to provide a verification code?
If for some reason you DO NOT have the phone and can’t open your Authenticator App, you can enter a Recovery Code. To Generate your Recovery Codes, follow these steps.
Recovery Options
Introduction:
Recovery codes can be used to access your account in the event you lose access to your device and cannot receive two-factor authentication codes.
9. Generate Your Recovery Codes
Once you set up the Two-Factor Authentication, you will be redirected to The Recovery Options Tab
Click Generate Recovery Codes
Copy the Codes and keep them in a Safe Place
!! Keep your recovery codes as safe as your password.
We recommend saving them with a password manager such as 1Password, Authy, or Keeper. These codes are the last resort for accessing your account in case you lose your password and second factors. IF YOU CANNOT FIND THESE CODES, YOU WILL LOSE ACCESS TO YOUR ACCOUNT. For help, contact [email protected]
